The 28th Annual Phi Beta Delta International conference will provide many opportunities for academicians, students, and professionals to interact with members inside and outside their own particular disciplines. We seek to explore what it means to be a member of a society of international scholars facing the challenges that the current globalized world now presents us.




Houston, the largest city in Texas and the nation's fourth largest city is known as the energy capital of the world, due to its broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. It also leads in health care sectors with the world's largest medical center. Houston is home to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located. The Port of Houston ranks first in the U.S. in international waterborne tonnage handled.

Houston is a leader in higher education with more than a dozen community colleges and seventeen colleges and universities. The city of Houston offers many public parks, museums, the Houston Zoo among other attractions. Houston is home to world-class companies of the major performing arts, and major league sports. Houston is also known as the culture and culinary capital of Texas with thousands of restaurants and eating establishments covering more than 60 cuisines. The Houston region is known to be the most racially and ethnically diverse in the U.S.
