Our hotel is located two blocks north of the Country Club Plaza which is a fourteen block high quality shopping area along Brush Creek  which was architecturally inspired by Sevilla Spain and begun in 1922 as the nation’s first outdoor shopping center.  More than forty restaurants, bistros and pubs as well as 150 unique stores mean there is something to inspire every one attending the Phi Beta Delta Conference.  Plan to stay Saturday morning to visit the Plaza, the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial, the Truman Presidential Library and Museum or the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art which is only two blocks  from the conference hotel (and rated among the top fifteen art museums in the U.S.)   Other recommended visits would be to Union Station which is a magnificent Beaux Art structure which has been much more than a train terminal and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum which chronicles the phenomenal skill of African-American baseball players in the Negro National League from 1920 until 1960.
