Phi Beta Delta (PBD) Honor Society for International Scholars along with Mu Chapter is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for the 40th Anniversary PBD Conference, which will take place in person on June 1–2, 2026, in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina on the campus of UNC Charlotte. Members across all chapters—faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and especially undergraduate and graduate students—are invited to share research, practices, and innovations that advance global knowledge and learning. In recognition of our anniversary theme, “Celebrating 40 Years of PBD: Advancing Global Knowledge and Learning,” the PBD 40th Anniversary Conference Planning Team seeks proposals for oral presentations and poster sessions highlighting PBD’s ongoing commitment to fostering global engagement, scholarship, and intercultural understanding. The 40th Anniversary Conference will be the first face-to-face conference since the Covid-19 Pandemic - we have so much to celebrate!
Proposals are due by 11:59pm, Saturday, March 28. Please submit your proposal at this link: https://forms.gle/FZi7tUfqzoZZKZnm6
Phi Beta Delta was founded at California State University, Long Beach in 1986. It is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education.
Phi Beta Delta is an academic and professional society, unique because it is resolutely interdisciplinary and international. Its formal organization brought together numerous pre-existing internally-oriented campus groups.

We strongly encourage proposals from undergraduate and graduate student members, faculty and staff as well as collaborative presentations from chapter teams, which further fosters PBD’s belief that global knowledge is enriched when multiple voices and experiences come together.
